We created a website and a series of videos, in which notable women of our time declaim passages of poetry by Peruvian women poets of all times. Each video was made in a different environment, according to the poem, the author or the interpreter.
Y Dicen was a complex but satisfying project. The complex part: creatively matching each piece of poetry with its interpreter, managing the licenses for the use of poems, and finally, coordinating the agendas of 13 notable (and quite busy) peruvian women.
The satisfying part: making 13 videos, very different from each other, with well renowned professionals (dancers, musicians, scientists, writers, etc.), and giving visibility to poetry, which is an artistic form which Canal IPe was in debt with.
My favorite, is the video we made for a version of “Me gritaron negra” (“They yelled “Black” at me”) by Victoria Santa Cruz, interpreted by Sofía Carrillo, Anaí Padilla, Karen García, and original music by DJ Shushupe.
Adaptation of original idea to transmedia format.
